Our Club

Oceanside Senior Anglers, Inc. (OSA) was formed in 1994 and incorporated as a non-profit 501 (c) (7) organization on August 8, 2011. The club provides a sportfishing outlet to Southern California seniors. Membership is open to seniors over the age of 50 and includes a spouse or significant other.

The club has a healthy and active membership, with over 200 members and almost 340 including spousal members. Club activities are centered around chartered saltwater fishing trips for members and, in addition, we hold social events including numerous picnics and an annual banquet, as well helping raise funds for our Oceanside Senior Anglers Foundation. We understand that the Oceanside Senior Anglers club is one of largest senior fishing clubs in California, and has a Conservation Policy that encourages all members to follow on club trips and on any other fishing trips that they participate in.

FISHING: We are primarily saltwater oriented, with fishing trips ranging from 3/4 day inshore fishing, overnight, 1 1/2 day and 2 1/2-day offshore trips for tuna and other pelagic species. We negotiate and charter a sports fishing boat for each of our scheduled trips. In 2017 we had 18 club charter trips scheduled, primarily out of San Diego, more charters may be added as the year progresses. In addition to the scheduled club fishing trips, individual club members organize numerous side trips throughout the year, generally with fellow members. Trips may include Baja and mainland Mexico and further afield to places such as Alaska, Canada, Florida, Costa Rica, Panama, Puerto Rico and even to the Amazon.

SOCIAL: On the social front we have various picnics throughout the year. The picnics are a wonderful opportunity for members and their guests to enjoy some great food at absolutely rock-bottom prices, and, more importantly, they provide an opportunity – especially for spouses – to mix & meet other club members in a non-fishing environment. In 2018 we are planning for around ten events, including a Hamburger & Hot dog Picnic, Italian Fest, Irish Feast, Pig Roast, Cioppino Fest, Fish Fry, Silent Auction, Clam Bake, Turkey Fry, and Shrimp Boil … and at year-end there’s our Annual Christmas Banquet to be held in the Oceanside area when the new club officers are installed, awards and prizes are given, and a good time is had by all. From time to time club members also band together for some spectacular cruises to various exotic ports.

MEETINGS: Club meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month from 9:00 am to 11:30 am at the El Corazon Senior Center, located at 3302 Senior Center Dr, Oceanside. At each meeting well known and knowledgeable guest speakers are scheduled to cover areas such as fishing destinations, fishing tips for local, offshore and long-range fishing, equipment maintenance, fishing tackle, conservation and specific information on different fish species. Guests interested in joining are welcome at our meetings.

MEMBERSHIP:To become a member the age requirement is 50+.  We recently created a new program called "Associates" - click here for full details on membership.
